China's latest food safety scandal could benefit H.J. Heinz Co.?

Analysts predict Chinese consumers will immediately shift to overseas brands, such as Heinz and Nestle SA, in the incident's wake, Bloomberg reports.
Downtown-based Heinz (NYSE:HNZ) has had operation in China since the 1980s, when it began producing infant cereal. It began selling baby food packaged in pouches there last year, and CEO Bill Johnson expects its business in China to double during the next three years, Bloomberg reports.
Since 2005, the company has strongly focused efforts on growing its emerging market business to more than 20 percent of overall sales, the Pittsburgh Business Times reported in August.
In its latest annual report, the company projected sales in China to hit $300 million in the 2012 fiscal year.
